What happened
KRAFTON confirmed on August 6, 2026 that it will show five titles at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, running August 26–30.
The five are an unannounced PUBG Studios first-person shooter, NO LAW, Project Zeta, Age Twister and TARAE: The Unbound.
The PUBG Studios entry is a separate project from Black Budget. It is described as an action-focused first-person shooter built on the PUBG: Battlegrounds intellectual property, set in the forests and small towns of the Pacific Northwest, and it receives its first public unveiling at the show.
PUBG: Black Budget is not named in KRAFTON's Gamescom lineup.
The last official Black Budget communication remains the Steam announcements posted during the second closed alpha, which ended June 29, 2026.
KRAFTON reported its Q2 and first-half 2026 results on July 29, 2026, with record half-year revenue. Black Budget was not mentioned in the coverage of those results.
What it means now
An absence is not a cancellation, and this site is not reporting one. A title in closed alpha with no announced release date has little reason to occupy a booth, and KRAFTON has never tied Black Budget to a show floor. What is verifiable is narrower: seven weeks have passed since the second alpha closed with no official post, and the studio's Gamescom slot goes to a different PUBG shooter. Some coverage of KRAFTON's earnings has asserted in passing that Black Budget was cancelled. No KRAFTON statement, Steam post or corroborating report supports that claim, the Steam store page remains live, and this site treats it as unverified until a primary source exists.
